TAPERFLO Trim is used for both low flow applications requiring very small Cv ranges, or in high pressure drop applications where small Cv ranges are required, or in a combination of both low flow and high pressure drop exists. Suitable for both liquid & gas applications where the pressure drop is high enough to cause cavitation, or excessive noise, and the energy being dissipated is high enough to cause substantial damage to standard trims.
The TAPERFLO trim gradually reduces the energy of the incoming liquid to prevent cavitation, or stages the pressure drop on gas applications, hence preventing damage from occurring. The design provides sufficient numbers of discrete pressure reduction stages to ensure the internal pressure is controlled through the trim.
